After having recalled the polemics around racism and anti-racism in France, the article tackles the topic of statistic investigation about racism in France, presenting results from two empirical cases. The article investigates the subjective dimension of racism, with a specific focus on lived experiences of discrimination. The aim of the article is to analyse the collective reality of racism in French society with the contribute of empirical quantitative analysis, rather than focusing on theoretical discussion of racist ideologies or the measurement of ethno-racial social inequali-ties.
