This article investigates how individuals experiencing food poverty engage with urban foodscapes in the city of Turin. The study examines the ways in which the condition of food poverty mediates individual-foodscape relations, giving rise to innovative provisioning practices, understood as survival strategies. Drawing on 36 qualitative interviews conducted between 2021 and 2022 with recipients of food aid, two distinct profiles emerge: the gatherer-explorer and the traditional user. The findings highlight how food poverty shapes diverse strategies, also influenced by both the physical and symbolic dimensions of the foodscape.
