With the decision under review, an airline was ordered to pay damages as a result of inaccurate information provided to an airline ticket buyer by a chatbot on the airline’s website. This is one of the first concrete cases involving liability resulting from the use of cutting-edge technologies. The commentary on the decision, therefore, after analyzing the case, provides a brief overview of the regulatory perspectives for artificial intelligence and the issues inherent in its regulation.
