The text explores the Sacco Valley through the lens of landscape, understood not merely as an aesthetic category but as an interpretive tool. This perspective reveals how even compromised territories can become laboratories for new ecologies. Starting from the specific case of the Valley, the text traces the transformation of its landscape—from a rural and picturesque setting to a site of forced industrialization, identity loss, and environmental crisis. Today, signs of spontaneous regeneration and a renewed ecological awareness suggest the emergence of a postindustrial landscape. This opens the way for rethinking landscape as infrastructure: a framework capable of connecting and structuring the Valley’s fragmented territory. Between natural reserves and postindustrial remnants, the Valley is envisioned as a space for experimenting with new values to guide the ecological transition.

Keywords: inbetween Italy; iconography; landscape.
