most industrialized countries have, lately, been hit by the global economic crisis. As early as 2009 the World Health Organization and 2012 the Mental Health Commission have expressed their concern about the repercussions of the economic crisis on public health and more specifically on mental health. This paper presents a literature review and a clinical case report on the relationship between the present economic crisis and mental health.
