This review offers a critical analysis of Luca Baldissara’s “Italia 1943. La guerra continua” (2023). The reviewer situates this new book in relation to ongoing historiographical debates surrounding the fall of Fascism, the armistice of September 8th, occupation and liberation, and collaboration and resistance. It also considers the work’s relevance to contemporary memory politics in Italy.
