L’articolo analizza l’ingresso dell’intelligenza artificiale nella psicoterapia, evidenziando la rapida diffusione di chatbot terapeutici e i rischi relativi. Vengono inoltre discusse le possibilità cliniche dei modelli linguistici, con particolare attenzione ai limiti strutturali nella relazione terapeutica. Ne deriva una sfida per il singolo terapeuta, chiamato a integrare il ruolo dei chatbot in terapia, e per la comunità professionale, che deve ridefinire standard etici e clinici condivisi. Si propone un terapeuta attivo (agentic), capace di integrare culturalmente la novità dei chatbot e di partecipare attivamente alla loro regolamentazione.
