Il management dell’innovazione sociale in sanità: il caso dell’IRCCS Gaslini

Il presente contributo si propone di descrivere processi virtuosi di management dell’innovazione sociale (SI) nel contesto dell’erogazione delle cure ospedaliere. Offre un caso studio rivelatorio riguardante l’Ospedale Pediatrico di Ricerca G. Gaslini (Genova), che ha recentemente assunto una figura manageriale responsabile della promozione di progetti di SI. A conoscenza delle autrici di questo contributo, l’organizzazione oggetto dello studio è il primo ospedale pubblico italiano ad aver inserito nel proprio organico un dirigente di questo tipo. La ricerca indaga le principali caratteristiche del ruolo manageriale attraverso analisi delle attività svolte, documentazione istituzionale e interviste a informatori chiave. I dati raccolti vengono analizzati attraverso il ragionamento induttivo e adottando una prospettiva sistemica.
Lo studio evidenzia il contributo del ruolo del SI manager nel contesto ospedaliero, proponendo un modello systems thinking che identifica leadership diffusa e apprendimento organizzativo come condizioni abilitanti per l’implementazione dell’innovazione sociale, con implicazioni utili anche per altre istituzioni sanitarie.
