In this dialogue Margherita Spagnuolo Lobb, Donna M. Orange and Bernd Bocian ex-amine the impact of "experiencing" and "finding new meanings" in psychotherapy setting. The authors compare Gestalt psychotherapy with relational psychoanalysis and highlight the importance of "emotional understanding" as common essential concept for the two different clinical approaches. Post-modern society challenges hardly psychotherapists. New integrations between different psychotherapeutic models, beyond historical and technical divergences, are needed.
