The author illustrates some possible applications of systemic epistemology, in a field of psychology that isn’t totally clinical: the sport psychology. The requests of sport psychologist often hide some deep and relational issues. These dynamics inhibit the full satisfaction in the performance and the effectiveness of a mental training program. Clinical discomforts has a bearing on performance and treatment. A technical work is focused on improving mental abilities but it may not work as well if it doesn’t consider the context. This article illustrates theoretically and practically, with examples, some applications of systemic thinking in working with young athletes in the release phase and it offers tools for a possible work.
Keywords: sport psychology, mental training, peak-performance, psychotherapy, release.
