In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the narrative ecosystem and the transmedia narrative model converge. This synergy creates a narrative system whose distinctive characteristics make it a privileged object of research when it comes to analyse the relationship between the aforementioned narrative models and the post-television media environment. The aim of this paper is therefore to explore these issues by focusing on the narrative structure, the relationship between it and the subscription model, the impact of this relationship on the morphology of the franchise, and the role of genres within it.

Keywords: narrative ecosystem, transmedia storytelling, post-TV, media franchise, genre.
