The essay proposes a reinterpretation of the relationship between business and labour in light of the crisis of the liberal paradigm and the emergence of a post-liberal sensibility. Starting from a diagnosis of the technocratic, identitarian, and nihilistic tendencies that pervade contemporary political and legal thought, it outlines a proposal based on the reconstruction of community bonds, the dignity of work as a relational and generative activity, and business as a civic institution. From this perspective, labour law can once again become an instrument of substantive democracy and a legal architecture for the common good. Far from being a regressive utopia, post-liberalism proposes a social order founded on rootedness, reciprocity, and participation, capable of responding to the dual crisis – material and symbolic – of latecapitalist modernity.
