What are the territorial implications of current processes of production and energy reorganization as well as tourist diversification in the Alpine areas? What kinds of research and innovation could contribute to orient such processes towards targets of ecological and digital transition? What planning tools and what projects of spatial regeneration could support the integration of such processes in mountain areas which are characterized by strong polarizations determined by productive and landscapeenvironmental excellences, and deep fragilities due to climate change and transscalar anthropic dynamics? Based on these questions, this section explores the modifications of productive sectors in the mountain region of Valtellina to discuss future scenarios of widespread regeneration.

Keywords: ecological transition; digital transition; spatial regeneration
