The author has chosen to explore artistic creativity through what we as analysts encounter in the privacy of our clinical work, namely the lack of creativity and the desperate desolation of patients who, when they are ‒ or believe themselves to be ‒ artists, struggle with the impossibility to create. Are we confronted with a blocking of creative art, or with a disturbance in the creativity of the self?
