This article analyses the state of Italian public policies for the implementation of the Istanbul Convention (2011), with regard to the chapter on Prevention, mov-ing from the assumption that education and training are fundamental for the fight against gender-based violence and the promotion of women’s agency. We will dis-cuss the main national policies addressed to schools and the experience gained in universities, highlighting the major obstacles and outlining prospects for progress.
