In this contribution the author, through the detailed presentation of a psychoanalysis case with four weekly sessions, highlights the numerous technical difficulties that can be encoun-tered in a psychoanalytic process. Some aspects of countertransference and interpretation, cen-tral to the understanding and evolution of the analytical process, are addressed. Countertrans-ferential experiences are essential to arrive at the formulation of interpretations, partial or more complete, that in the long work of analysis, can shed light on areas of the mind that are often blocked and paralysed, trapped behind rigid obsessive defences, which deplete the patient of his affective and emotional repertoire.
