The adoption of distance education is now widespread in academic organizations. The latters have always been called upon to promote students’ employability and, in recent years, to combine this objective with digital transformations and the challenges they entail, without forgetting the promotion of well-being. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the role of perceived employability in the relationship between technostress related to distance education and the well-being of university students. A total of 242 university students, mainly females, completed a self-report questionnaire including measures to assess technostress related to distance education, internal perceived employability, external perceived employability, and psychological well-being. Statistical analyses reported significant associations between technostress and the other variables evaluated, except for internal perceived employability. Moreover, internal perceived employability emerged as a potential mediator in the relationship between technostress and well-being. These results highlight the need, especially for academic organizations, to implement interventions aimed at redefining online learning environments and promoting students’ perceived employability in order to preserve their well-being.
