The present work stems from the author’s commitment in the field of actions against discrimination related to sexual identity, carried out within the Anti-Discrimination and Culture of Differences Section of the University Athenaeum Center Sinapis ‒ University of Naples Federico II. Specifically, the socio-cultural phenomenon of Ball Culture will be explored, which offers multiple insights into the systemic and familial analysis of peculiar configurations, known as Houses: alternative family units that represent for the queer community a safe space in which to develop a sense of belonging and protection.
