In this work I describe the therapeutic process and the identity construction of a young Albanian teenager named Enea who landed in Italy clandestinely through the Balkans. The psychoanalytic-oriented psychotherapy vis a vis with three weekly sessions, allowed through an internal geographical proximity ‒ also facilitated by the common mother tongue ‒ a possible elaboration and transformation of the pain for family losses. It was central in the first phase of the therapy to work on the restlessness of the girl’s emigration experience, her confusion and fear of entrusting herself to the analyst. The transformations in psychotherapy were possible through continuous transference-countertransference work, which on the one hand touched on the theme of resonance and respect for the adolescent’s own internal times and on the other hand the non-renouncement of the evolutionary-conflictual task of growth, which made the therapeutic journey of the patient Enea a founding internal journey like that of the hero of Greek-Roman mythology.
Keywords: adolescence and identity process, mother tongue, resonance, otherness.
