This paper focuses on the evolution of the debate within the Palestine Libe-ration Organization (PLO) in the aftermath of the 1972 October war until the turning point of 1982. Specifically, it highlights the perspective of the main Palestinian leftist party namely, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the beginning of its weaking process within the PLO. Based on Palestinian primary sources, the paper shows the main factors behind the division between the PLO leadership, favourable to the pursuit of a diplomatic line, and the PFLP opposition, still tied to revolutionary di-scourse and practices.
