The generational transition, like organizational and familial transition in a wide sense, involves a transmission of power and authority not necessarily accepted (Schillaci, 1990). Aim of the present work is to analyse representations of senior entrepreneurs in comparison to generational transition, through the personal histories of life (life case). The sample is composed of 20 senior of small and average family firms of the Milan province that have just considered the topics of generational transition and firm continuity. The analysis of qualitative data (Creswell, 1998) have made to emerge several interesting themes, this job is focused on two specific areas: relationship with the family and representation of the change.
