In holding the Extraordinary Jubilee, Pope Francesco intended to highlight the Church’s mission of being a witness of God’s mercy. The Holy Year led millions of pilgrims, including many ill and disabled ones, to come to Rome from all over the world. This of particularly interesting phenomenon has been investigated in its deep meaning by means of a national research carried out with a mixed methods approach, which involved the use of a multiplicity of quantitative, qualitative and visual tools and techniques. This study presents the research results highlighting the epistemological meaning of mercy in the jubilee year for a plurality of actors: pil-grims, health professionals, ill people, people with disabilities and caregivers.
