The article addresses the issue of the multicultural city starting from the case of a small city, Desio (MB) and the housing trends of its historical centre. The social and urban configuration of this space is read on the background of the city transformations. The study of two cases, one building where Pakistani immigrants reside and an old court characterised by a great heterogeneity, highlights the relation between planning and everyday life and the possibility of building more inclusive cities.
