The paper deals with and describes a condition of competition for housing in the general framework of the economic crisis. The case concerns the Sabaudia municipality. The categories in competition for housing are the foreigners, who have chosen the Agro Pontino to work and the middle class, which has chosen it as a holiday resort. The houses, erected to feed the "need" of second houses, on the Lazio coast are the objects of the competition.
