The paper focuses on the dynamics of inclusion vs. exclusion that generally marks the life of a class ofstudents. In particular, after stating that these processes continuously mark the life of the groups, in the firstpart, the paper describes a complex educational situation characterized by the unsuccessful attempt to avoidbeing discriminated. The paper then examines the interventions put in place by teachers to managethe situation, i.e., what works, what does not work, and what can be done differently. The second part ofthe paper propose a more in-depth analysis of the dynamics of inclusion and the class atmosphere, i.e., theunderlying fear of being discriminated and isolated, which might be objective or "procured". Finally, the work provides indications regarding what educators can do to promote a welcoming and inclusive class atmosphere.
