This article explores the application of Single Session Therapy (SST) in family interventions, highlighting its unique features and potential. SST is an innovative method, which is practiced globally for over three decades, founded on the principle that a single session can serve as an effective therapeutic, resource-based and strength-oriented intervention. The Italian Method, developed at the Italian Center for Single Session Therapy, emphasizes a strength-oriented and adaptive approach to maximize the impact of a single session whether it is the only intervention or the first of several. As part of ongoing action research, this method evolves continuously to refine techniques, enhance person-centered care, and reduce the duration of therapeutic processes. When applied to family settings, SST emerges as a critical tool for facilitating change, particularly in navigating transitions within the family life cycle. This article presents clinical case studies to illustrate the method’s practical implementation in addressing adolescence-related challenges. These examples show how SST leverages family resources to address developmental and relational issues effectively.
