The article reconstructs the reactions of part of the political scene in Turin – from progressive Catholicism to the extreme left – to the coup in Chile. It describes the first solidarity initiatives for Chile and the political clash around the organization of the international demonstration of November 18, 1973, seen as a revealing moment of the alignments and lexicon of the Turin left. Finally, it focuses on the activity and mutual relations of the “unitary” associative realities that arose in Turin to organize solidarity activities for Chile.
