In Italy the Red Code represented a turning point in the fight against gender-based and domestic violence, aiming to provide quick and targeted responses to protect the victims of such crimes. The agreement between the Local Health Authority (ASUFC) and the Public Prosecutor's Office of Udine introduced the figure of the psychologist auxiliary of the National Health System in the Summary Information Testimonials (SIT), highlighting its added value both in the protection and guarantee of the rights of the victims and in the collection of statements made during Judicial Police investigations. This paper aims to share the experience gained through this agreement, emphasizing the effectiveness of integrating legal and psychological expertise to improve the approach towards vulnerable victims and optimize the effectiveness of investigative procedures.
