This essay studies the evolution of Urban Air Mobility as a new infrastructural system, de?ning a typological abacus of vertiports as a tool to explore relevance and design issues of these buildings. Organized by scale – small, medium, large, and modular – the abacus categorizes vertiports based on case studies, employing architectural drawings in plan, section, and axonometry as a critical tool for the typological reading. The abacus identi?es recurring spatial con?gurations and key design principles by synthesizing functional and architectural elements into a comparative grid. Additionally, the abacus is a tool that provides design information for future research phases and applications in the project of vertiports, searching for a balance between technical aspects and design quality.
