The “ECHOES” project has identified the city of Ovada as a community of care. This paper presents the results of the research conducted to explore this hypothesis. The findings suggest that the “COVID-19” pandemic provided the placing and timing for a collaborative network of medical doctors, named “Territoriando”, which was already active before the pandemic, to create a community of practice that engaged the community. The “Covi a casa” project, conceived by the medical doctors’ network, represented the practice through which the community participated in responding to the need for care.
Keywords: community; care; community of practice; COVID-19; doctors’ network; “Covi a casa” project.
