MECOSAN

Mecosan is a leading quarterly journal in Italy, focusing on the management of healthcare organizations as integral parts of the broader health policy and economics landscape.
Its mission is to foster a deep understanding of current challenges, drawing lessons from the past to develop innovative solutions for a socially, institutionally, and economically sustainable future.
Firmly rooted in the paradigm of Italian Business Administration (Economia Aziendale), Mecosan promotes interdisciplinarity and international dialogue, both essential to addressing the complexity of the digital society and the challenges of the polycrisis.
The journal positions itself as an authoritative platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas, with the aim of influencing and improving managerial practices and policymaking within the health system. Its target audience includes academics, practitioners, and stakeholders across the life sciences sector.
Mecosan welcomes contributions that stand out for the relevance of the topics addressed, the methodological rigor of the analyses, and the creativity of the proposed solutions. Submissions may include theoretical essays, empirical studies, literature reviews, case analyses and best practices, book reviews, and policy commentaries. Manuscripts are accepted in both Italian and English.
The journal is AIDEA-accredited, indexed in Scopus, and fully open access.

Papers submitted to the journal are typically screened by the editor or one of the associate editors to determine whether the manuscript falls within the Aims and Scope of the journal and satisfies the academic standards of the field. Papers are then submitted to a double blind peer review. Reviewers are chosen accordingly with their competencies related to the paper. Reviewers comments will be sent to the Author(s), also in case of rejection
