Images’ world is a cosmos ordered with a multiplicity of systems, which are based on matrices of different kind: technical, archival, thematic, disciplinary. The chaotic configuration of images is just an illusion and a collateral effect: in reality, we all know how to recognize, often automatically and without any effort, the nature, content and goal of every perceived image. The obedience of the visual world to pre-established codes dulls and hides the images’ creative potential, annihilates them and makes them useless. For this reason, it is necessary to deploy, as a defense strategy, actions which aim to disorganize the contemporary iconography to unveil, under the apparent homogeneity, all the factors which can be useful to the exercise of operational critics and creative action
