The contribution, starting from a different conception of urban regeneration, concerns the temporary re-use of real estate properties. This re-use has the function to revitalise the degrad-ed estates, in a transitory period, until they become places to be used for other functions. Par-ticularly, the temporary re-use and social re-use of confiscated assets from the mafia has been analysed. This re-use, that in the development of the arrears of the long procedure determines a new destination, can be assigned temporarily, from the seizure phase to the local entities and in particular to the Municipality (that will manage them directly or assign them to a series of sub-jects indicated by the legislator: i.e. the youth community, voluntary organizations, recovery centres and cures for drug addicts, cooperatives).
