Starting from examining Richard Serra’s works and comparing them with the architecture of San Carlo at Four Fountains’ Church, the Author points out the concepts of time and space in an original and suggestive way. He puts those in relationship with the psychoanalytic ones of aprés-coup, perception, psichi time, uncanny. Recalling André Green’s thoughts on time, Kohon claims that Serra’s creations, as well as several contemporary artists’ ones, show "the effects of a backdated reverberation and anticipation that testifies the irradiation of heterogeneous meanings", as André Green underlines in his description of "Fragmentated Time" (2000).
