Intimacy is the ability to share whith another person unknown parts of ourselves. Some patients show a state of pseudointimacy, a way of formal relationship, or only intellectual, used to escape to really intimate relationship, experienced as unreliable or incestuous. The establishment within the analytic dyad of a transitional space, where experience in secured form the anxiety of separation, can help the patient to recover contact whith emotions otherwise inaccessibile. A clinical case illustrates the positions taken. .
