The House Drawing Test is a new tool that can offer innovative and creative therapeutic opportunities. The present paper considers the extensive operational tradition and the rich theoretical framework in which the tool is placed; we will introduce a research conducted by Iscra, aimed at analyzing and verifying the therapeutic efficacy of the House Drawing Test over time. We will provide systemic technical tools that are being used for building a relational hypothesis on the observed system. We will finally analyse two specific cases, in order to identify the transformative aspects triggered by the tool itself when looking back at individuals’ family history; observations indicating the proper use of the technique are also provided.

Keywords: Drawing, transformation, time, house, narration, story.
