The article examines the process of mourning in Milan between 1915 and 1921. In particular, it analyzes the liturgies developed by society and institutions in the face of mass death. Based on various sources, the article aims to reconstruct the main moments and the social networks of pain that developed in one of Italy’s most important cities, especially during the transition from the war experience to Fascism.
