The paper analyzes the experiences of new teachers in Italian public schools, on the job and precarious, to detect the differentiated perspectives of social and professional mobility in the post-pandemic era. It is situated in the country’s differential geography, crossing the field of inner areas, to interpret the motivational systems, propensities and trajectories of mobility that young workers redefine through emerging needs and demands for living. It outlines a scenario in which, the long-term exposure to precariousness and the risk of failure, favors the prevalence of existential well-being prospects over those of career. In a lively "role-play" game, exposed to changes of rules and sudden changes, the unique objective of stabilization gradually decays, to promote the search for more sustainable, comfortable and fulfilling living conditions.
