This study investigates the effectiveness criteria of networks in healthcare and the contribution of different actors to it, even during the challenges of the pandemic.
Based on the Provan and Milward (2001) framework, this paper delves into the characteristics of the chronic care model in Lombardy Region.
Through an exploratory case study, the perceptions of network members regarding its functioning and the changes that occurred during COVID-19 are examined.
Network effectiveness pertains to its ability to address patient needs, ensuring services through the efforts of its
members, including through central coordination. During the pandemic, the ability of members to adapt their roles to respond to ongoing contingencies was crucial in sustaining network effectiveness and contributing to the achievement of its goals.
