This paper retraces the events that led to the birth of Modern Architecture in Argentina, focusing on the fervent activity of lecturers (Marinetti, Le Corbusier, Hegemann, Bardi, Sartoris, Perret), the publication of articles and debates on the topic, and the influence of the presence of German construction companies that had long been active in the construction of large reinforced concrete works. The theoretical and practical contribution given by Alberto Prebisch, Wladimiro Acosta, Walter Gropius and Antonio Vilar is addressed, contextualized with some considerations on the relationship between architecture, construction, politics and modernity.
