This paper concerns the evaluation of a pilot health project aimed ameliorate the quality of life and the management of the illness of a group of patients and their families. The evaluation was requested following the results of the monitoring carried out by the project managers in order to understand why the program was not achieving the desired effects. In this paper we show how evaluation can give to decision-makers several elements for re-thinking and adjusting the programme through the use of an approach to democratic and pluralist evaluation. This approach has allowed to review the program theory and to give greater importance to economic social variables.
