The article proposes an analysis about trade unions in Italian legal system, in order to prove unfounded the indifference of the current digital ecosystem towards the role of traditional trade unions and its practices. The author considers the case of the unions of digital platform work as an effective example of collective conflict, which has shown us even unprecedented forms of action, and which provides evidence that, contrary to the many criticisms, the union and its action have not collapsed. Finally, the author criticises the new participatory model of the trade union and proposes to recover the essential role of collective conflict.
