The experience of the Great War while he was teaching for a short time at the University of Padua had a bearing on the direction taken by Antonio Aliotta’s philosophy. He was prompted to switch from theism to ≪dynamic pantheism≫, a position centered on the individual conscience and personal commitment to act. It follows that the social and cosmic order is the end result of innumerable continual conflicts and divested of any idea of providence.
