This qualitative study intends to explore challenges encountered in the implementation of community development projects in city neigh-borhoods and, in general, in paths of citizen participation. The research was conducted through semi-structured interviews in the Arcella dis-trict in Padua and involved eleven subjects engaged in various capaci-ties in the implementation of participatory processes. The results of the reflexive thematic analysis offered various insights into various issues related to participatory processes such as ensuring the economic and social sustainability of the projects, fostering the involvement of mi-grant communities by listening to their needs and enhancing digital communication in participatory processes.
