This essay aims to analyze and outline new participatory paths of personal, community-territorial and socio-economic-environmental well-being, in a perspective of integral and sustainable development, trying to introduce new perspectives of thought, ethical and epistemological, starting from the institutional value assumed by work in the history of contemporary political, social, economic and legal ideas and experiences, recognized in our country by the founding fathers who wanted it as a founding principle of the democratic res publica in the first paragraph of art. 1 of the Charter. The meanings attributed to the concepts of person, subsistence, solidarity, subsidiarity, territory, well-being will become important in this perspective - in some cases we believe decisive - to arrive at supporting the need for an interdisciplinary look at the problems that human life and history pose. The formulation of the thesis about the opportunity to coin (or, more coherently, co-generate) a new theoretical-practical principle of «sus-solidarity» fits into this argumentative path, a synthesis of the principles of solidarity and subsidiarity (vertical, horizontal, circular), considered more effective in interpreting, evaluating and suggesting coherent actions with respect to the aim of individual and collective well-being.
Keywords: work, person, subsistence, subsidiarity, solidarity, ethics, well-being, interdisciplinarity, territory, cooperation, co-generation.
